President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday received Akinwunmi Ambode, a former governor of Lagos, at the Aso Villa.
The meeting was the second time for both leaders since Tinubu became Nigerian president on May 29.
Ambode, who was the governor of Lagos between 2015 and 2019, was present when the state government hosted Tinubu at a reception on June 30.
Members of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) also attended the reception.
The former governor served only one term in Lagos after he fell out with Tinubu, who, at the time was the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his place, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was favoured to become the governor.
Part of the reasons he was not considered for the second term was that Ambode abandoned the party structure put in place by Tinubu and even dumped some loyalists of the APC leader.
