Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer who was shot dead in an incident involving a police officer in Lagos, was pregnant.
TheCable had reported that the shooting incident occurred on Sunday.
The deceased and her family were said to be on their way from a Christmas service when an officer attached to the Ajiwe police station in Ajah, Lagos state, shot her.
The incident has sparked widespread criticism, while the Lagos police command has said an assistant superintendent of police (ASP), and two other officers are currently in custody over the incident.
Also, Usman Baba, inspector-general of police, had ordered a speedy investigation and prosecution of the officer involved in the incident.
Amid the outrage, TheCable understands that the deceased was pregnant.
A Facebook user, Adesina Mobarak Ademola, had earlier posted photographs of himself and the deceased, who looked pregnant, and said the pictures were taken days before the incident.
Speaking on the incident, Inibehe Effiong, human rights lawyer who also visited the police station where the accused officer is attached to, confirmed that the deceased was pregnant.

The grieving man that is holding his head with his two hands in the photo is the husband of the deceased lawyer. He could barely utter a word while we were in his house.
