Reports on the gale of defections rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the senate dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that 20 APC senators have concluded plans to defect to the opposition parties. The newspaper says telecommunications companies have shaken up the NIN-SIM hurdle to recover 16 million subscribers.

The Nation says the APC has moved to avert a likely slide into minority status in the senate owing to the planned defection of some senators.
