Reports on the planned evacuation of Nigerians from Sudan amid the lingering armed conflict dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says the federal government is making preparations to evacuate about 5,500 stranded Nigerians out of Sudan through the Egyptian town of Luxor. The newspaper says the police have launched a manhunt for Hudu Yunusa-Ari, resident electoral commissioner in Adamawa.

The Nation reports that the armed conflict in Sudan is currently taking its toll on Nigerians studying in tertiary institutions in the country. The newspaper says Chimaroke Nnamani, senator representing Enugu east, has asked Peter Obi of the Labour Party, to withdraw his petition against the victory of Bola Tinubu, president-elect, in the February 25 presidential election.

Daily Trust reports that the federal government said it would begin the evacuation of stranded Nigerians in conflict-torn Sudan on Tuesday. The newspaper says Bello Matawalle, governor of Zamfara, has reinstated Aliyu Garba Marafa as emir of Birnin Yandoto after he was suspended for conferring a traditional title on Aleru, a bandit kingpin.

The newspaper says fraudsters are exploiting the desperation of prospective homeowners and tenants to defraud victims.
