Reports on the refusal of the G5 governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to support the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

Saturday Punch reports that the divided interests of the G5 governors have stalled the endorsement of the group’s preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 elections. The newspaper says Guaranty Trust Bank has joined the growing list of Nigerian banks suspending international transactions on naira cards.

The Nation says Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, has dared the national leadership of the PDP to expel him over alleged anti-party activity.
