The planned endorsement of a presidential candidate by the aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dominated the cover pages of the Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the five aggrieved governors of the PDP may endorse Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in compliance with the counsel of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The newspaper says the senate has proposed the establishment of 376 new agencies and institutions despite moves by the federal government to restructure the public service.

The Nation says Chris Ngige, minister of labour and employment, says plans are underway for an upward review of salaries for civil servants by the federal government. The newspaper reports that the Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria (IPMAN) said the lingering scarcity of petrol could only abate if the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) increases its supply.

Daily Sun reports that the LP presidential council has named Akin Osuntokun, a former managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), as its new director-general. The newspaper reports that Kashim Shettima, APC vice-presidential candidate, has faulted the opinion poll released by a national newspaper, which ranked Atiku Abubakar, PDP flagbearer, ahead of Tinubu.
