Reports on the naira redesign policy and campaign by presidential candidates ahead of the Saturday election dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the hearing of the case filed by some state governments at the supreme court against the naira redesign policy will resume today. The newspaper says the price of kerosene has risen by 136 percent.


 

Daily Trust says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has received cash from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for election logistics. The newspaper reports that Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he would work hard for Nigerians if elected.


 

THISDAY reports that the United Kingdom, former president Goodluck Jonathan and Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, have appealed for free, fair, transparent, and peaceful polls in Nigeria. The newspaper says the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has insisted that only the old N200 notes would be reissued for circulation.


 

 

The Nation reports that Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara states have filed a contempt of court suit against Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), and Godwin Emefiele, governor of the CBN, over their alleged failure to comply with a supreme court order.


 

Daily Sun says heavy security operatives have been deployed to offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the country. The newspaper reports that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has tackled Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, saying the governor was too cowardly to come out openly to sell the candidacy of Tinubu.
