Reports on the terror alerts in the federal capital territory (FCT) and the depreciation of the naira dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says the federal government has asked Nigerians to go about their businesses following apprehension over the terror alerts issued by the United Kingdom and the United States. The newspaper reports that the World Bank said naira devaluation will worsen Nigeria’s food and energy crises.


The Nation says Ayo Adebanjo, the acting leader of Afenifere, has come under criticism from south-west leaders for rejecting the endorsement of the presidential bid of Bola Tinubu. Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, said the state has not decided who to vote for in the 2023 presidential election, the newspaper reports.

The newspaper says Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has asked his legal team to appeal against the stay of execution order of the court of appeal.
