The voting process for the amendment to some sections of the 1999 constitution (as amended) by the national assembly dominated the cover pages of the Nigerian newspapers.

The Nation says the national assembly will commence the process of voting to change some aspects of the 1999 constitution. Moshood Adeoti, Osun governorship aspirant, has approached the court to declare him as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, the newspaper reports.


 

The Punch reports that a move by the national assembly to grant life pension for its presiding officers has sparked outrage among civil society groups. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said $1.04 billion was spent on petrol importation in 2021, the newspaper reports.


 

Daily Trust says President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed Abdullahi Adamu, senator representing Nasarawa west, for the APC chairmanship position.
