Reports on the anti-brain drain bill, election petitions and tussle for 10th national assembly leadership positions dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers. 

The Punch reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has opposed northern senators vying for the senate presidency of the 10th national assembly. The newspaper says the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend the planned removal of petrol subsidy.


The Nation reports that the APC has asked the presidential election tribunal to dismiss the petition of Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), saying it is a waste of time. The newspaper says APC governors have asked the party to expedite action on its proposal for the zoning of the office of the senate president and speaker.


Daily Trust reports that electricity consumers in the country are groaning over epileptic power supply. The newspaper says resident doctors have rejected the bill seeking to mandate medical and dental practitioners to practice for five years before relocating abroad.


THISDAY reports that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank have asked policy makers in Nigeria and other low-income countries to create targeted financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The newspaper says the presidency has defended the choice of service chiefs appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.


The Daily Sun reports that Edwin Clark, an Ijaw national leader, said Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, should be prosecuted for spreading fake news against Obi. The newspaper says Buhari will travel to Saudi Arabia on official visit from Tuesday, April 11 to 19.
