Reports on the controversy trailing the launch of Nigeria Air, in the twilight of the Buhari administration, dominate the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers today.

The Punch reports that the house of representatives has called for a forensic audit of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to determine its assets and liabilities as well as its current market value. The newspaper says the senate has rejected the controversial national water resources bill.


 

The Nation reports that President Bola Tinubu will today hold talks with chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the leadership positions in the 10th national assembly. The newspaper says the senate has approved the appointment of 20 special advisers for the president.


 

Daily Trust reports that artisans and business owners have accused the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) of selling out, after the suspension of the nationwide strike on removal of petrol subsidy. The newspaper says the house of representatives committee on aviation has faulted the launch of Nigeria Air during the administration of Muhammadu Buhari.


 

THISDAY reports that the NLC has accused the federal government of exploiting ex-parte injunctions to silence workers. The newspaper reports that state assemblies have started to elect their presiding officers to commence new sessions.


 

Daily Independent reports that Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has accused some former governors in the northwest of compromising the security alli­ance among states in the region by “wining and dining” with bandits and terrorists”. The newspaper says the senate presidency bid of Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, is currently hanging in the balance.
