The suspension of the 5 percent excise duty on telecommunication services and other tax waivers by President Bola Tinubu, dominate the front pages today.

The Punch reports that the organised private sector has asked President Tinubu to implement additional tax waivers and incentives in order to reduce the cost of doing business. The newspaper says the federal government has promised to tackle military equipment shortage and poor funding.

Daily Trust reports that Tinubu has suspended the 5 percent excise duty tax on telecommunication services and vehicle importation tax. The newspaper says no fewer than 1.5 million girls enrolled in schools in six northern states in the last 10 years, under the girls education project phase III (GEP3).

The Guardian says following the difficulty in accessing funds of deceased bank account holders by families, advocacy for a law that mandates banks to provide pay on death (POD) form to every account holder, has heightened. The newspaper reports that the federal high court sitting in Abuja has granted Abba Kyari, a suspended deputy commissioner of police, N50m bail.
