The decision of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to shelve its planned strike over the naira scarcity dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is set to appeal his suspension by a Benue state high court, Makurdi. The newspaper says the federal government has insisted that court cases at the presidential election tribunal will not stop the inauguration of Bola Tinubu as president.

Daily Trust reports that one year after gunmen attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train, full services are yet to commence. The newspaper says the NLC has issued a two-week ultimatum to the federal government to resolve the lingering naira scarcity.
