The decision of the federal government to register another association of university lecturers — Congress of Nigerian University Academics (CONUA) — dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says the national working committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved to investigate the allegations that the housing allowance paid to the NWC members was a bribe. The newspaper says hoodlums attacked supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a rally in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The Nation says the latest attempt by the PDP board of trustees (BoT) to resolve the rift between Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, and the camp of Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, has failed.
