Yusuf Lasun, standard bearer of the Labour Party in the Osun governorship election, says Nigeria is in trouble if vote buying persists.
There have been reports that major political parties are devising new strategies to engage in vote buying in the election.
Speaking with journalists after voting on Saturday, Lasun said he fears for the future of the country if vote buying persists.
“We all know that Nigeria is in dire straits if we continue to buy votes,” he said.
“My own generation is exiting politics; I just have fear for the future generation, but let me sound a note of warning, if people actually go out today to buy the vote, Nigeria is in problem.”
