A source with inside knowledge of the alleged drug raid involving Marlian Records says Mohbad was never detained by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The NDLEA, in February 2022, raided a property in Idado Estate of Lagos where Naira Marley’s signees resided.
NDLEA’s Femi Babfemi had told TheCable at the time that two artistes were among the six people arrested.
“Some quantities of Cannabis and Molly were recovered from their apartment and car,” he added.
“Six persons were arrested in all. Two females and four males.”
Videos surfaced on social media at the time showing officials of the agency trying to cuff the artistes.
It was also widely reported that Mohbad was among the arrested persons.
However, sources familiar with the matter have informed TheCable Lifestyle that Mohbad was never detained in the NDLEA case.
The source listed the names of all six suspects arrested at the time, none of which is Mohbad, who was born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji.

Mohbad, aged 27, passed away last Tuesday and was laid to rest on Wednesday.
The police in Lagos have since commenced a probe of the case to determine the cause of his death.
Although the details of the singer’s demise are still sketchy, a variety of allegations have been making the rounds on social media.
However, Joseph Aloba, his father, revealed that Mohbad died after an auxiliary nurse was invited to inject him.
Videos buttressing the singer’s troubles and fallout with the Marlian Records label have resurfaced as the police probe continues.
This includes a video where he was accosted during a video shoot and another clip where the late singer said he was force-fed a poisonous substance.
